India's former opener Virender Sehwag sees Ben Stokes walking out of the upcoming IPL auction with a heavy pocket. He even thinks that Stokes is capable of leaving Virat Kohli behind in terms of the highest bid. Virat has been retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 17 crores.

Sehwag, team director of franchise Kings XI Punjab talks about the possibility of Stokes topping the chart of highest paid cricketers. “Virat Kohli is definitely the most expensive player in the IPL but if there is someone who can beat him it has to be Ben Stokes,” he told News18.

578 players will go to the auction and there are several big names who can fetch high amount in the auction.

IPL governing council has introduced Right-To-Match card in the auction and Sehwag says using the card won't be easy as the competition is tough and prices would be very high.“They are a lot of players but for example, if RCB wants to retain (Yazuvendra) Chahal and KL Rahul, they only have one RTM card to use, so we will make sure that we push their prices to Rs 10 or 12 crores so they have to think before buying them,” Sehwag said.

Sehwag wants the underdogs to win the trophy. He said a new winner is his bet. “I want a new team to win the IPL this season, someone who hasn’t won it before,” said Sehwag. “If one of the three teams RCB, Kings XI Punjab or Delhi, wins than a healthy competition would be ensured and people will enjoy,” he added.
