The intense bidding war on some of world’s cricket biggest names will certainly catch everyone’s attention in the forthcoming IPL auction, scheduled to be held in Bangalore on January 27 and 28. The much-awaited IPL auction will witness a whopping 1122 players go under the hammer.

Among the Indian players, all eyes will be on Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Ravichandran Ashwin. Aside from these three experienced campaigners, India’s wrist spin sensations –Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will be on every franchise's bucket list.

Ahead of IPL auction though Chahal has confidently stated that his preceding IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore will use a Right To Match (RTM) card at the auction to retain him.

“I am not thinking too much as to what happened in the retention. I trust RCB. They still have the Right-To-Match card so I am 100 percent sure I am coming back to RCB. However, it also depends on how will it go at the auction,” Chahal was quoted by New Indian Express as saying.

After the conclusion of three-match Test series against South Africa, India are scheduled to play six ODIs and three T20Is against the Proteas in their own turf. Chahal has been selected for the limited-overs leg in South Africa, starting on February 1.

Talking about the upcoming challenge in South Africa, the 27-year-old said: “I have already played in South Africa with the India A team, but did not play in the main grounds of the country then. When I saw the Test match wickets in South Africa (especially the second Test), it was completely different. The ball was spinning and keeping low in the second Test.”

“Maybe, in the ODI, with the white ball, it could be a different game. Accordingly, I am practising and training at the NCA,” he further added.

Chahal had scalped 21 and 23 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively last year. The leg-spinner recently received the ‘T20I bowling Performance of the Year’ award from ICC. All these recognition and accolades mean his contest against AB de Villiers will attract eyeballs in the forthcoming series.

“He is a player, who plays 360-degree shots. I never think who I am bowling at, which is my main strength. If you think AB is at the batting crease, then you will put automatic pressure on you. So I always think whoever is there, I will have to bowl my best,” Chahal concluded while taking about the Proteas batting maverick AB de Villiers.
