MS Dhoni is back with his old Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings, after they retained him for the upcoming IPL 2018 edition.

The former India skipper made a fascinating disclosure on Friday. Dhoni revealed that he was approached by many franchises ahead of the player retention earlier this month. But Dhoni chose to remain with CSK, as he knows that he is associated with the Chennai based franchise for the better part of the past decade.

He said there was no question of him playing for any team other than the yellow brigade.

Speaking at an event in Chennai, Dhoni said, "A lot of people approached me, I can tell you that. But, you know, I can't think (of) not coming back to CSK," the 36-year-old said responded when asked whether CSK was a natural choice for him.

Dhoni is adored by the local people of Chennai and they have given him the name of 'thalaiva'. He also spoke about the support from loyal CSK fans and applauded the efforts of team management who went through the rough phase of 2 years' suspension.

"And as I said, it is because of everything - what we been through, how we have conducted ourselves, how the management has been, how the players have been, how the fans have been. I always keep saying, you know, it is like a second home to me. The fans have over here have literally adopted me, they accept me as their own. There can't be a bigger compliment than that. This is a special place and that thought of being with any other franchise was never a question. So that was a very easy answer for me," he further added.

Dhoni has led CSK to two IPL titles and five IPL finals. And after playing for the Rising Pune Supergiant team for the past years, Dhoni is happy to be back in his favorite IPL team.

The Chennai Super Kings also retained Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja in retention this month, along with MS Dhoni for IPL 2018.
