The IPL auction for the 2018 edition will take place on January 27 and 28 in Bengaluru.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a place where the franchises are encouraged to pick primarily Indian players. Franchises also find it easy to fill their squads with Indian players and only pick international stars for important roles.

Quality Indian fast bowlers are a premium commodity in the IPL, as they are very less in number and franchises can get many quality bowlers for a very good value for money. Some of the Indian fast bowlers have already made their name in the tournament and we have shortlisted 5 such Indian fast bowlers who should be in the limelight in IPL 2018 auction.

Here are 5 Indian Fast bowlers to watch out for in IPL 2018 auction:

Sandeep Sharma | IANS

Sandeep Sharma has been one of the most impressive fast young bowlers in the Indian Premier League. Bought by the Kings XI Punjab franchise in IPL 2013, Sandeep had made his FC debut in 2011 and was a part of India U19 squads for the 2010 U19 World Cup; and then played a big role in India U19 team winning the 2012 U19 World Cup in Australia.

Sandeep proved to be a great buy for the KXIP squad, as he had served them with great returns. Sandeep has played 56 matches for the franchise and has taken 71 wickets with economy of 7.77 and a best of 4/20. He was the performer of the year 2014, as he picked 18 wickets in 11 matches.

Sran has fought form and injuries to get back into the contention for IPL auction. Sran has played just one full season of IPL, for SRH and picked 14 wickets and injury curtailed his IPL 2017 season to just one match.

Currently fit and raring to go, Sran will be amongst the premium picks in the Indian fast bowlers’ bracket.

Siddarth Kaul | IANS

Siddharth Kaul is finally receiving the adulation and limelight, he so richly deserves. The 2008 U19 World Cup winner Kaul has featured in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad and has picked 22 wickets in 21 matches so far.

His watershed moment came when he was picked by SRH team for IPL 2017 and due to injury to Ashish Nehra, Kaul became the go to bowler for captain David Warner. He picked 16 wickets in 12 matches he played and it led to him being called up to the Indian squad.

Kaul will be one of the most sought after Indian fast bowler in the auction.

Varun Aaron | Indian Express

Varun Aaron was once touted as the fastest bowler in Indian domestic circuit. However, form and injuries have hurt his chances of having a long career for India. He has played 42 matches in IPL and picked 38 wickets. His best season was in 2014 with 16 wickets in 10 matches.

Aaron has now gained full fitness and form, and is raring to go against the best of the international cricketers in the IPL. His speed and ability to dismiss batsmen just by beating them with pace and it is a very rare quality to find in an Indian bowler and any franchise will love to have that in their bowling arsenal.

Anureet Singh | IANS

Anureet Singh has previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders team in IPL 2014 and was then picked up by Kings XI Punjab team. His best season came in 2015, when he picked 15 wickets in 14 matches for his franchise. An accurate medium pace bowler, Anureet has the ability to swing the ball both ways and can be handy when it comes to bowling yorkers in the death overs and keeping the batsmen from hitting big shots. Anureet will come in handy in middle overs when you need someone to keep the run rate down.
