The IPL auction for the 2018 edition will take place on January 27 and 28 in Bengaluru.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a platform for young Indian talent to showcase their abilities and skills in front of the world. But every team requires experience to guide the youngsters and hence the IPL has also seen some brilliance from experienced players who have previously played for India.

Today we look at the top 5 capped players, who have played for India and can be a good choice for the franchises to pick up in the upcoming auction of IPL 2018.

AMIT MISHRA

Amit Mishra is the only bowler to pick 3 hat-tricks in IPL

Amit Mishra has been one of the most successful leg spinners in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In 126 matches, Amit Mishra has picked up 134 wickets with 3 four-wicket hauls and 1 five-wicket haul. Amit Mishra is also the only bowler in IPL history to pick up three hat-tricks in the league.

One of the most impressive spinners in India, Mishra has fine-tuned his game to the rising popularity of T20 cricket. In his 189 T20 matches, he has picked 216 wickets and has been a part of IPL since its inception. He has played for Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the league.

Mishra is also credited with popularizing leg spin in the IPL, resulting in every team employing the services of at least one leggie each in the team.


FAIZ FAZAL

Vidarbha captain Faiz Fazal has rubbed shoulders with the best in IPL for Rajasthan Royals from 2009-2011. Faiz Fazal had played 12 matches for Rajasthan Royals, scoring 183 runs in 11 innings at an average of 18.30, before he was released from the squad in 2012.

However, since then, Fazal has not caught the eyes of franchises in IPL, but with his brilliant performance in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy, Fazal will be in limelight again, when the auctions happen in Bangalore on January 27 and 28. The fact that he led an underdog team like Vidarbha to Ranji trophy triumph and led it from the front with the bat, scoring 912 runs at an average of 70.15.


ASHOKE DINDA

Bengal’s spearhead Ashoke Dinda has been part of the IPL since 2008 when he was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders team. Since then, he has played 78 matches in the league and has taken 68 wickets with a best of 4/18. His best season came in IPL 2013 when he picked 16 wickets in 13 matches for Pune Warriors team.

Known to be a lion-hearted pacer, Dinda tends to give his 110% when playing for any team in the IPL and that has shown in his performance and in the fact that he has been picked by franchises like Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Pune Warriors, Rising Pune Supergiant, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

With the IPL 2018 auction on the horizon, 33-year-old Ashoke Dinda will find himself in the auction pool again with hopes of getting picked by a new team this season.


PRAGYAN OJHA

Pragyan Ojha has been missing in the IPL scene since the last two years, but in the past, he has proven to be one of the most successful spinners in the IPL history. He has played 92 matches in IPL and has taken 89 wickets with an economy of 7.36 and best bowling of 3/11.

Ojha has played the majority of his IPL career for Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians. He is also the only spinner to win the Purple Cap in the Indian Premier League, an achievement he got in 2010. Ojha was awarded IPL Jury's Best Bowler in 2010.

Pragyan Ojha will be on the list of the most sought-after players in the IPL 2018 auctions with teams looking for experienced players in the new look IPL teams.


MANOJ TIWARY

Manoj Tiwary had a brilliant IPL 2017 for RPS

Manoj Tiwary is a story of the resurrection of a brilliant career. Tiwary was one of the hottest Indian players who was touted to become something big before injuries derailed his career. But since the last 2 years, Manoj Tiwary has slowly but surely rebuilt his career and has gone from strength to strength.

Tiwary has featured in IPL in 93 matches and scored 1648 runs with a best of 75* and 7 fifties for teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune Supergiant. He had a stupendous IPL season for RPS in 2017, scoring 324 runs in 15 matches with the highest score of 60. His exploits as a finisher took his team to the finals of the tournament.

Tiwary is in the very good form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 9 wickets and 89 runs in four matches for Bengal. He will definitely be on the list of must buy players of every IPL franchise in the 2018 auction.
