IPL 2018: Kings XI Punjab eyeing a CSK mainstay as their captain

KXIP has changed captain multiple times in the last two seasons.

KXIP is eyeing Faf du Plessis for a leadership role in IPL 2018

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 auction is just few days away and franchises are ready to throw everything to get their desirable players.

Kings XI Punjab, who retained only one player; Axar Patel for 6.5 crores is expected to go after the South African skipper Faf du Plessis. They want him to lead their side, as KXIP has lacked a stable leader in last few seasons.

The auction is scheduled to take place on January 27-28 in Bengaluru and KXIP CEO, Satish Menon is hopeful of a change in luck after in the upcoming IPL season.

“The good thing about the fate is that it will change one day. Last few years haven’t been good for us. Fans still supported the team during the bad times. And they want better. You may never know that we might resurge in this season with Faf du Plessis as the Kings XI Punjab’s skipper,” Menon was quoted as saying by Cricket Addictor.

Earlier, the outfit had revealed that Punjab's home game will be hosted in Mohali and Indore.

Chennai Super Kings had Du Plessis in their squad in 2015 and hence, they have a chance to Right To Match (RTM) him.
