The countdown to IPL 2018 has already started with the IPL retentions. Interestingly it the event was also broadcasted live where all the franchises spoke about the players retained for the next season.

The next big date is January 27 and 28, the auctions for the prestigious eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League. All the franchises will try to find the right combination and balance and so will be Kings XI Punjab.

They have retained Axar Patel as their only player who is confirmed to play for Kings XI Punjab this year, the selectors will try to select players and build a team around Axar Patel and hope to win this year Indian Premier League Trophy. KXIP had an opportunity to win the championship in 2014 IPL. That time the team had George Bailey as their skipper.

With all the players up for auctions, Team Circle of Cricket gets to jot down a list of players which the franchise can aim to buy in the upcoming auctions.

DAVID MILLER

David Miller has always been proved to be the shining star in Kings XI Punjab dugout. His demolishing skills has always favored the Kings of Punjab. No one can even match his level of craziness and most importantly, recently he became the fastest player to score a T20 ton that came in only 35 balls vs Bangladesh. So surely Punjab will try to rope him in through the Right to Match card on 27th January. Throughout his IPL career, he has represented KXIP, this year also the team staff will not miss out this opportunity.

SHAUN MARSH

Another player who has always been very consistent with the Punjab team is Shaun Marsh. From the first edition of the IPL Shaun Marsh has been associated with Kings XI. This year too the franchise will try to claim Shaun Marsh with using Right to Match. Moreover, he was also awarded for exceptional batting display that gave him the Orange Cap in the inaugural edition of the tournament. He scored 616 runs for his team and since then he is with Kings XI only.

IMRAN TAHIR

To match Axar Patel's spinning level they would be going after the leg-spinner from South Africa Imran Tahir, who has also done exceptionally well in T20s. Earlier he was associated with RPS but as the team is now terminated, he is free to be a part of the Auction party. Tahir- Axar's duo in IPL can definitely be a deadly combination for other opponents.

COLIN INGRAM

Colin Ingram who is a left-hand middle-order batsman that can definitely upset any team on his day would be on Kings XI's choice and why he should not be, he had a great 2017 in T20 cricket with exceptional performance in T10 cricket league that took place in the United Arab Emirates. Colin Ingram is currently playing for Adelaide Strikers in BBL 2017-18. He has the power to finish the game once he is in full swing.

SANDEEP SHARMA

Sandeep Sharma who is been recently released by Kings XI only can be brought back by using Right to Match card. His spells speak for himself, he used to provide early wickets to Kings XI Punjab and in future also he will surely give his best performance. Being a local player of Punjab he knows his areas to bowl and how to bowl to the players like Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle.

Mitchell Starc

MITCHELL STARC

Opening bowling is one matter of concern for Kings XI Punjab in IPL and to stable the opening bowling of the team, they would like to buy Mitchell Starc this year. Mitchell Starc can be a nightmare for any batsman. He can be as deadly as firestorm on the 22 yards field. Recently he was released from RCB with no signs of getting back in the team, KXIP will not miss an opportunity to buy the Australian giant if he is fit for the tournament.

A franchise which has not have an IPL decade to boast certainly is looking forward to a new start this year. Hopefully, they will break the IPL jinx and the above mentioned players play a role in that.
