Chennai Super Kings have unveiled the players they want to go with in the IPL 2018. CSK’s most successful captain MS Dhoni makes his way back into the franchise and with him, CSK retained Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja.

There were many surprises in the player retention list as many franchises opted to retain 3 players and a couple of franchises opted for just one. But a big surprise came from Kolkata Knight Riders, who didn’t opt to retain their two time IPL trophy winning captain Gautam Gambhir.

Recently, Gambhir had admitted that he was yet to hear from the KKR officials about the retention of players and with KKR not opting to retain him, it is clear that Gambhir will be looking for a new home for the upcoming IPL tournament in 2018.

He will find himself in the auction pool for the IPL 2018 auction which will take place on January 27 and 28.

In a surprising move, Chennai Super Kings have indicated that they might go for Gambhir in the auctions. A fan of CSK franchise tweeted to the official handle of CSK, asking if they will be bidding for Gautam Gambhir.

CSK replied with a couple of emojis, which may be translated as they might be thinking about doing so.

Here is the tweet and CSK’s reply:
