IPL 2022: WATCH – MS Dhoni slams two spectacular sixes during his dazzling cameo against DC

Dhoni scored 21 not out off 8 balls to propel CSK to a massive 208/6 in 20 overs.

MS Dhoni | BCCI/IPLMS Dhoni was at his very best with the bat in Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday (May 8).

The CSK skipper arrived in the middle during the 18th over and once again displayed his legendary finishing skills. After playing a dot on the first delivery, Dhoni slammed a six followed by a four off Mitchell Marsh.

It was a vintage shot from Dhoni for maximum as he charged down the track to deposit the ball over the long-on boundary.

The 40-year-old produced another stunning six in the penultimate over off Khaleel Ahmed. On this occasion, he used his brute power to smash the ball over the long-off boundary.

In the final over, Dhoni got strike on the last two deliveries and he scored four runs from it to finish with 21 not out off 8 balls. During this cameo, he also became only the second skipper after Virat Kohli to score 6000 or more runs in T20 cricket.

Coming to the match, opener Devon Conway starred with the bat for the defending champions, slamming 87 off 49 balls to lead the foundation for CSK’s mammoth 208/6 in 20 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad (41 off 33 balls) and Shivam Dube (32 off 19 balls) also made notable contributions with the bat.
