IPL 2022: Sanju Samson wasted DRS like his international career- Twitter reacts to RR captain checking wide ball using DRS

Samson was not a happy chap as multiple wide calls reduced the target for KKR in a tense chase.

Samson opted for DRS to check for umpire's wide ball call | TwitterRajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson was the subject of a lot of discussions after his team’s loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 2, at the Wankhede Stadium. During the fag end of the match, he was unhappy with the on-field umpire’s wide ball calls.

Prasidh Krishna bowled a couple of close wide calls in the penultimate over of their IPL 2022 game on Monday. KKR batter Rinku Singh shuffled all the way to the off-side and just missed the contact with the ball. However, the umpire still called them wide.

This left the RR skipper fuming, and then as a dig at the umpire, decided to opt for DRS to check the wide ball decision. Since no rule is in place that allows DRS to overturn on-field wide calls, the call was basically wasted.

While Samson seemed to keep his cool, he clearly looked frustrated by the umpire's dubious calls. The game could have been much closer than what it turned out to be due to these calls.

This led to fans on Twitter reacting to Sanju Samson’s over-the-top reaction to the umpire’s wide ball calls.
