Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Sam Curran was elated that his franchise has now recorded two back-to-back wins after losing their first game in the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) after thrashing Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 45 runs on Monday (April 19).

The England star further said there were a lot of talks after Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2021 opener and now they finally manage to execute plans really well with both bat and ball in the last two games that they won in the tournament.

Notably, in the last game against RR on Monday, Moeen Ali scalped three wickets while Curran and Ravindra Jadeja snared 2 wickets each to help CSK successfully defend the 188 to win the game by 45 runs in Mumbai to jump to the second spot in the IPL 2021 points table.

Curran told Dwayne Bravo in a video posted on the official website of IPL: “Very good. That first game we did not start well but we have talked a lot these last couple of days and we executed really well with both bat and ball. It's really nice to get two wins now and get some momentum.”

He also lauded his England and CSK teammate Ali, who has so far scored 108 runs in three games, saying the all-rounder is “on fire” and really enjoying batting at the top for the franchise in the ongoing IPL 14. He also lauded Jadeja for his bowling show against RR on Monday.

Curran added, “Moeen Ali is on fire, I think he is really enjoying batting at the top. He does that for his county team too in England. Ravindra Jadeja was excellent as well in the field and with the ball.”

Meanwhile, Bravo said: “After losing the first game, we had a week off; we put a lot of thought and planning into our game. Back-to-back wins, the tournament will get harder as the game progresses.”
