IPL 2021: Cricket fraternity reacts as Maxwell-De Villiers smash KKR bowlers as RCB post 204/4

Maxwell made 78 and De Villiers made 76* for RCB | BCCI/IPLThe 10th match of the IPL 2021 saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first of the double-headers on April 18, 2021. Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first in Chennai.

Varun Chakravarthy came good for KKR at the start, removing Virat Kohli for 5 and Rajat Patidar for 1 run. But then Devdutt Padikkal (25) and Glenn Maxwell added 85 runs for the 3rd wicket before Padikkal fell to Prasidh Krishna.

However, then RCB kicked into another gear altogether as Maxwell was joined by AB de Villiers and then began to hammer the KKR bowling to all parts of the ground. The duo added 53 runs in almost no time.

Maxwell slammed 78 in 49 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes, while De Villiers slammed yet another half-century, ending the innings with 76* in 34 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes to his name.

Their efforts led to RCB making 204/4 in 20 overs. AB de Villiers made 55 runs out of the 70 scored in the last 5 overs of the innings.

Varun Chakravarthy picked 2 wickets, while Prasidh and Cummins took a wicket each.

The Cricket fraternity was all praises for the Maxwell and De Villiers show by the RCB team and lauded their batting on Twitter.
