Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg believes that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will not have much impact by Josh Hazlewood's withdrawal from the upcoming 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, as they have other players in the squad to fill the void left by the Australian pacer.

On Thursday, March 31, Hazlewood pulled out of the upcoming IPL 2021 citing bubble fatigue, saying he wants a rest from cricket and spend some time at home with his family.

Following the announcement, the cricket experts and fans are slamming the Australian speedster for pulling out of the IPL 14 when the tournament is just one week away, although, Hogg didn’t comment on Josh’s decision and said “one player does not make an entire team”.

Hogg further pointed out that the three-time IPL champions had a brilliant bowling lineup with Hazlewood in it, but South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi is the best replacement for the Aussie for the franchise to make a “fairly strong” bowling attack in the upcoming IPL 2021.

On Thursday, Hogg took to Twitter to share his opinion on the same: “CSK had a brilliant bowling lineup with Hazlewood in it, but one man doesn't make a team, Ngidi will fill that void with the Australian pulling out. #CSK looking fairly strong this year. #IPL2021,”

Earlier, Hazlewood was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au: “It's been a long 10 months in bubbles and quarantine at different times, so I decided to have a rest from cricket and spend some time at home and in Australia in the next two months. We've got a big winter ahead too. The West Indies is going to be a long tour, with Bangladesh T20 tour potentially thrown on the end of that.”

He concluded, “Then potentially the T20 World Cup leading into the Ashes, so it's a big 12 months, as it always is with Australia, and I want to give myself the best chance to be mentally and physically ready for that. That's the decision I've made, and it sits pretty well with me.”
