IPL 2021: MS Dhoni to take charge of CSK's first training camp from March 9

MS Dhoni and a few available domestic players will begin IPL 2021 training in Chennai.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is all set to begin their preparations for the IPL 2021 season with the first training camp in Chennai from Tuesday, March 9. Skipper MS Dhoni has already arrived in the city and will be seen in action in less than a week.

IPL 2020 was not the best of seasons for CSK with them finishing second to last in the points table. However, they look a better side this time around ahead of the 14th edition of the IPL.

MS Dhoni will be seen leading the training camp which is an exciting piece of news for all the fans of the IPL franchise from Tamil Nadu and of the legend himself. With Dhoni no longer to be seen in the blue jersey, IPL is the only tournament he plays, thus making it even more exciting for the fans.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanath has confirmed that the training will be held from March 9 and all the players participating will be undergoing a 5-day quarantine before they enter the field for practice. In addition to that, all the players will have to return three negative COVID-19 tests in order to join the training camp.

He told PTI, "Yeah...the camp is likely to start from March 9. Whoever is available would take part in the training sessions. The players will undergo five-day quarantine before they start training. Also, they will have to return three negative tests..."
