IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity reacts as Rohit Sharma’s dazzling 68 powers MI to record 5th IPL title

Mumbai Indians thrashed Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets in the IPL 2020 final.

Rohit Sharma scored 68 off 51 balls in the IPL 2020 final | IPL/BCCIMumbai Indians (MI) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (November 10).

Opting to bat first, DC posted 156/7 in 20 overs on the back of captain Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 65 off 50 balls and Rishabh Pant’s 38-ball 56.

Trent Boult was the stand-out bowler for MI, claiming 3 wickets by conceding 30 runs in his four overs.

In reply, the defending champions rode on skipper Rohit Sharma’s dazzling 51-ball 68 to overhaul the target in 18.4 overs with 5 wickets in hand. Ishan Kishan (33 off 19 balls) and Quinton de Kock (20 off 12 balls) also made notable contributions with the bat.

With this victory, Mumbai Indians clinched their record fifth IPL title and became the second team after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to win the tournament in two successive years.

Cricket fraternity lauded Rohit Sharma for his fabulous knock in the all-important match and congratulated MI for yet another IPL triumph.
