The 54th match of the IPL 2020 saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a crucial encounter. Both the teams were vying for a place in the final four and Dubai witnessed the tussle.

KKR was put in to bat by RR captain Steve Smith after winning the toss. Though the innings stumbled a bit after the first 10 over, captain Eoin Morgan took things into his own hands. He made 68* in 35 balls with 6 sixes and 5 fours, while Gill (38), Tripathi (39), and Russell (25) played their part as KKR finished with 191/7 in 20 overs. Rahul Tewatia picked 3/25, while Tyagi picked 2/36 for RR.

In order to strengthen their chances for playoff qualification, RR needed to chase down 191 in 13.3 overs and KKR needed to win by a margin of 81 runs or more.

Uthappa and Ben Stokes tried to get going from the start as 19 runs and the wicket of Uthappa came off the first over by Pat Cummins. However, Cummins came out as the winner against Stokes, as he had him caught by Dinesh Karthik for 18 runs in 11 balls.

The catch by Karthik was perhaps one of the top catches in the history of IPL and certainly a highlight of IPL 2020, as the former KKR captain pounced on the ball which came off Stokes’ outside edge and was flying away. Karthik stretched his right hand out and the ball was pouched in the webbing of his glove.

Here is the video of the catch:-
