Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) explosive batsman Chris Gayle missed out on a well-deserved hundred after getting bowled by Jofra Archer against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Gayle was on 99 in the last over of KXIP's innings when Archer cleaned him up.

After being beaten by Archer, Gayle shook his hands while walking back to the pavilion. The Barbados-born England pacer posted a tweet in respect of the Caribbean cricket legend.

"Still the boss @henrygayle," wrote Archer and attached two pictures of them from the match on Friday.

Gayle was the top scorer for his side with 99 runs off 63 deliveries. He smashed 8 sixes and 6 fours in the innings and also completed 1000 sixes in T20 cricket.

However, the knock went in vain after Rajasthan chased down the target of 186 in 17.3 overs. It was an easy chase for them after Ben Stokes' 26-ball 50 and Sanju Samson's 48 runs off just 25 deliveries.

Both the teams are still in the race of the top four, but they will have to win their last match with a good run-rate.
