IPL 2020: 'My team is in great spirits', David Warner optimistic about SRH’s comeback

SRH currently hold the 5th spot on the IPL 2020 points with 3 wins from 8 outings.

With 3 wins from 8 outings, SRH currently hold the 5th spot on the IPL 2020 points table and need to win at least 4 out of their next 6 games qualify for the playoffs.

Sunrisers will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match and they are heading into their next game on the back of successive defeats against Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

"Obviously, we are halfway through the tournament. We need to win 4 out of 6. But one thing I love about this tournament is the unknown. When people have their back up against the wall, you can play with more freedom because if you lose a couple then you're out. That can spark everyone and my team is in great spirits. We really enjoy being back in the park.

"Obviously, we have got fantastic franchise owners who understand the game. They realise, we can have back-to-back loses and back-to-back wins, but, at the end of the day, we have to go back to the drawing board regardless of whether you win or lose and plan how to defeat your next opponent," Warner said on the latest episode of India Today e-Inspiration.

While SRH’s top-order has done a good job in most games, the middle-order has left a lot to be desired.

The young duo of Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma showed glimpses of their talent in one game, but they haven’t been able to bring consistency in their performance.

"These are the questions that are going to be raised in the team selection meeting, I am sure. These issues are going to be talked about (lack of hard-hitter in the middle-order).

"The hardest thing about IPL is you're going to play 4 overseas. With our team, it's hard to fit in with our 4 foreign players," Warner said.
