Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Rahul Tripathi believes that Pat Cummins-led KKR bowling unit will give a tough time to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsmen at their “home venue” Abu Dhabi in the 21st match of the ongoing IPL 2020 on Wednesday (7 October).

However, the KKR attack failed against the Delhi Capitals in their 18-run loss on October 3 in Sharjah, but they are hoping for a turnaround against CSK in Abu Dhabi – the venue where they have been camping and training for long for the ongoing IPL 2020.

Tripathi said: “We have been practicing here for a long time. It’s like a home venue for us now. We have some experience on this ground. They know what lengths to bowl on this wicket.”

He further explained, “All the bowlers really contributed to our last game here (against Rajasthan Royals). It’s a big ground and definitely, it completely changes from what we played in Sharjah. Our bowlers are up to the mark and will give a tough time to CSK batsmen.”

Meanwhile, CSK finally got the momentum in the IPL 13 as they brilliantly bounced back after a hat-trick of losses, chasing down 179 without losing a wicket in their last game against KXIP on the back of an incredible opening partnership between Shane Watson (83*) and Faf du Plessis (87*).

However, Tripathi admitted that CSK is in great form but insisted that the mood in the KKR camp was positive despite their last defeat against DC, and looking forward to their next game in Abu Dhabi.

The 29-year-old further noted, “It's an important game for us. They won the last game; they will have the momentum. But we will look to start well.”

He signed off by saying, “It's more important to learn from your mistakes. There were a lot of positives. In IPL, matches happen too fast and it's a matter of one victory and the momentum comes back. So, it's important to look forward to the next game.”
