Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will play all their home matches at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali in the upcoming 13th edition of the IPL 2020.

There were reports that KXIP were mulling over making the Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow as its second home base for the upcoming edition of the lucrative tournament, as the franchise had shifted its home base to Indore two years ago, and played quite a few matches there.

However, KXIP CEO, Satish Menon, on Friday, December 6, has rubbished all such speculations by confirming that the franchise will play all home matches of the 2020 season in Mohali.

Menon told Sportstar: “There is absolutely no truth to all that. This time, we are not looking at a second venue. We will play all the seven home games in Mohali this season. That’s where things stand.”

Meanwhile, the KXIP had appointed Indian spin legend Anil Kumble as the head coach, while South Africa great Jonty Rhodes will serve as the fielding coach for the IPL 2020.

With Ravichandran Ashwin making way to Delhi Capitals, the franchise would have to look for a new player for the leadership duty, and KL Rahul could reportedly replace the off-spinner, but the side would take a final call on captaincy after the auction in Kolkata on December 19.
