KKR conducted a poll on Twitter asking the netizens to pick between IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final.

Having won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title four times, Mumbai Indians (MI) are certainly the most successful franchise in the cash-rich T20 competition.

All of MI’s success have come in the last 6 years while they won their fourth IPL trophy earlier this year by beating the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a tense final.

Defending the modest total of 149, veteran pacer Lasith Malinga produced a remarkable last over including a perfect slower yorker to dismiss Shardul Thakur in the final delivery as MI restricted CSK to 148/7 in 20 overs.

A similar result was witnessed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (domestic T20 tournament) final on Sunday (December 1) as Karnataka edged past Tamil Nadu by just 1-run.

Needing 13 in the final over, Ravichandran Ashwin smashed Krishnappa Gowtham for two successive fours to bring the equation down to just five runs off the last four balls.

However, there was another twist in the tale as Ashwin failed to connect the next two balls and scored only 1 run from it. In the penultimate delivery, Vijay Shankar got run out while going for an impossible second run and then Gowtham conceded just a single on the final ball to hand Karnataka a thrilling victory.

After the heart-stopping summit clash of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) conducted a poll on Twitter, asking the netizens to pick between the two finals this year.

“2019 witnessed two incredible T20 final thrillers and the #KKRAdmin wants to know which one was your favourite,” KKR tweeted.

However, Mumbai Indians were not quite impressed with KKR’s post. The defending champions asked KKR to use MI’s trophy winning picture instead of the IPL trophy.

“IPL2019_Champions.jpg Hello KKR Admin, Please, feel free to use the attached image. Regards, #MIAdmin,” MI replied.
