Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson is visiting India for the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) play-off matches. Watson will watch the first qualifier and eliminator matches of the TNPL.

Watson is a part of Chennai Super Kings franchise and was their star in IPL 2018 final victory. He almost got the side across the line in the IPL 2019 final as well despite a knee injury. He is pleased getting back to Chennai where fans admire him a lot.

A video was shared by Chennai Super Kings on their Twitter account where Watson said, “It is great to be back here in Chennai. Thank you so much for all your prayers and wishes. I am back to full health. I am here to take a look at some of the TNPL games, which will be a lot of fun. I will be back in Chennai to watch the final on August 15. Great to be back in my second home. See you at Chepauk.”

Watson also sent his wishes to Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, his CSK teammate who underwent knee surgery in the Netherlands recently. “To Suresh Raina, so sorry to hear about your knee injury. Hope it is not too bad, and you get back to full fitness very quickly,” he said.
