IPL 2019: RCB dealt a huge blow as Dale Steyn ruled out of tournament with shoulder injury

Dale Steyn had replaced Nathan Coulter-Nile in RCB team.

Dale Steyn | IANSThe Royal Challengers Bangalore team finally hit some stride in the ongoing IPL 2019 as they have won their last three matches on trot beating teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, and Kings XI Punjab.

The Virat Kohli-led Bengaluru team received a boost in the arm when they signed Dale Steyn in place of Australia’s Nathan Coulter-Nile and Steyn had an immediate impact when he picked two wickets against Chennai Super Kings, that of Shane Watson and Suresh Raina and pegged the team back. Steyn picked four wickets in two matches with a best of 2/29.

Steyn was missed in RCB’s last match against KXIP, as Kohli had said that he was suffering from a shoulder niggle. RCB defeated KXIP comprehensively thanks to inning from AB de Villiers and Umesh Yadav’s three-wicket haul. With RCB on a roll, Virat Kohli might have thought that everything is finally going his franchise’s way.

However, in the news that might sadden the RCB fan base, Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an inflammation in his shoulder and won’t be available to play for Challengers anymore.

With three more matches to go for RCB, who can still make it into the playoffs thanks to some permutations and combinations; this news doesn’t bode well for the team, who have been suffering from bowling woes already.
