KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have been magnificent for Kings XI Punjab and are perfectly capable of continuing their excellent work for the rest of the ongoing Indian Premier League, said the team's middle-order batsman Mayank Agarwal, who also acknowledged how he has benefitted  a lot from the foundation that the dangerous duo at the top has often provided.

"It is amazing to have both of them at the top of the order. ... they are almost always setting it up for us," Agarwal told reporters ahead of the next encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday (April 24). "You just have to go out there, execute plans. It is good if your openers can go out there and get runs, nothing like it."

Punjab is fourth in the eight-team IPL 2019 points table with five victories and as many defeats after 10 matches. The team needs to win at least three of its remaining four matches to secure a playoff berth.

"The thought process is very simple for us in the side," Mayank added. "We have got to win three games out of four and we have got to take one game at a time, and going out there and winning those games."

"As a team, if we can get momentum now and start winning now, back-to-back games, nothing like it going into the playoffs with some momentum."

Agarwal also complimented skipper R Ashwin for his leadership duties, he said that the premier Indian off-spinner does a lot of hardwork behind the scenes and has been an influential figure on the field.

"He (Ashwin) is also a great communicator and goes out to every player with inputs," he stressed, before informing that a clear picture on Mujeeb-ur-Rehman's shoulder injury is awaited and his availability will be confirmed by tomorrow.
