The Chennai Super Kings took on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in the return match. SRH had beaten CSK the last time they met and Dhoni had not played in that match.

Dhoni won the toss and to balance the karma, Kane Williamson missed this match, as he had to return to New Zealand due to personal reasons. Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the SRH team and was asked to bat first under immense heat. SRH brought in Shakib Al Hasan for Williamson, while CSK got Harbhajan Singh in for Shardul Thakur.

Harbhajan immediately struck, as he removed Jonny Bairstow for a duck to end his IPL 2019 in a sad way. But Warner and Manish Pandey added 115 runs for the second wicket. Warner scored his 43rdIPL fifty and Manish Pandey slammed 83* in 49 balls, as the SRH team made 175/3 in 20 overs.

David Warner was running out of steam as Harbhajan Singh came back to bowl the 14th over and on the third ball, spun a ball away from Warner, on which the batsman had a wild swing. His backfoot dragged outside the crease and it took Dhoni approximately 0.2 seconds to whip the bails off.

Warner didn’t even wait for the umpire to refer the decision, as Dhoni walked towards the bowler convinced that he had got his man and replays confirmed it and Warner had to go back for 57 in 45 balls. Dhoni is amazing behind the stumps and this was yet another example of his cool and calm way of keeping wickets.
