RCB are taking on CSK at their own home in the Chinnaswamy Stadium and after losing the toss, were asked to bat by MS Dhoni, who returns to lead the Chennai team in this match.
RCB lost Virat for 9 and AB de Villiers for 25. Akshdeep Nath made 25 and their highest scorer was Parthiv Patel with 53 runs. But CSK bowlers found ways to get wickets at regular intervals. RCB had hoped that Marcus Stoinis and Moeen Ali would help them get close to 200 runs in the end. But those plans were brought to a halt, thanks to Faf du Plessis.
On the 3rd ball of the 17th over Tahir bowled a full one outside off-stump and Stoinis hit it straight in the air. Du Plessis at long-off takes the catch but realizes momentum is taking him over the boundary line and therefore throws it towards substitute Shorey. He accepts the catch graciously and completes the catch.
It showed how brilliant a catcher Du Plessis is and showed the immense presence of mind to throw it to Shorey and dismiss Stoinis.
