Royal Challengers Bangalore’s caravan moved to Kolkata’s Eden Gardens to face KKR in the 35th match of the IPL 2019. RCB, who are at the last place in the points table, having nothing to lose went after the KKR bowling with gusto and they were led by their captain Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who was having a mild IPL so far, despite showing some promise, really got into his 2017 edition mode in Eden, as he and Moeen Ali, took on the KKR bowlers to cleaners. Ali made 28-ball 66 and added 90 runs with Kohli, who went onto make his fifth IPL century, in 57 balls, which had 9 fours and 4 sixes. He was particularly severe of M Prasidh Krishna, who went for 52 runs in his 4 overs, while Kuldeep went ever worse, for 59 runs in his four.
In the 18th over, Sunil Narine was about to bowl his last ball, when he missed his run up and ended up not delivering the ball. Virat, meanwhile made himself safe by placing his bat in the crease and to add some humor, showed Narine this too, to the amusement of everyone.
