Karun Nair is delighted to see his Karnataka and King XI Punjab (KXIP) teammate KL Rahul scoring runs in the ongoing IPL 2019 after going through a "tough couple of months" following the Koffee with Karan controversy, which had ruled him out of the crucial limited-overs series in Australia and New Zealand.
The 27-year-old right-hander has further insisted that it's never easy to regain focus after any controversy, but at the moment, Rahul is in a really good space and he is happy that his teammate has been able to get back to his form with the bat.
The right-hander was suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) his controversial comments on the TV show, though, he later made comeback to India A side and then returned to national colors for Australia series. He is scoring runs consistently for KXIP in the ongoing IPL 2019 and eventually, has earned a spot in India's 15-man World Cup which was announced on Monday, April 15th.
Nair told India Today on Tuesday, 16th April, “It's good he is scoring a lot of runs again. We are really happy for him. Because he is scoring runs, the team is benefitting. I am really happy for him.”
He signed off by saying, “He has gone through a tough couple of months but to come back and start scoring again is not easy. It's important that people around him support him. He is in a really good space right now. Hopefully, he will continue doing well for us.”
