IPL 2019: Keemo Paul delighted to be part of the ‘biggest league in world’

West Indian players have been trending in the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, whether be it Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard or Alzarri Joseph, all have been taken the lucrative T20 event by storm with their mighty talent here.

So far in the IPL 2019, the Caribbean stars have stepped up and showcased their talent and made their name in arguably the biggest T20 tournament in the world, and now another Windies star became an overnight hero and he is Keemo Paul, who is representing his trade for Delhi Capitals in the tournament.

Paul, the 21-year-old Antigua all-rounder, hogged the limelight with his match-winning figures of 17 for 3 in four overs -which broke the backbone of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batting line-up to help DC to thrash the hosts by 39-runs and DC stormed to the second spot in the IPL points table on Sunday, 14th Apr.

After bagging the Man of the Match award for his heroic in Hyderabad, Keemo has termed IPL as the ‘biggest league in the world’ while thanking God for giving him the opportunity to play in India’s franchise tournament, as well as, his family for their support.

Speaking to media at the post-match presentation in Hyderabad, Keemo said, “First all of the thanks to God. This is a dream come true for me. My family has supported me tremendously. It is the biggest league in the world and why not enjoy it.”

On being asked about his match-winning spell at slow Hyderabad wicket, the young pace sensation said that he just tried to adapt according to the pitch, though, lamented to not got the opportunity to contribute with the bat in the tournament.

Paul signed off by saying, “Went back of the hand and it worked for me. I just tried to adapt to the wicket. I just bowled to suit the wicket. This game is all about confidence. I have not been getting much to contribute with the bat so wanted to contribute more. This is for the friends, family and all my teammates. Thank you for the support.”
