Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 runs in a last over thriller at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and registered their first win of IPL 2019.

Earlier on a good batting track Virat Kohli won the toss and asked Mumbai Indians to bat first. Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma gave a good start of 54 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal broke this stand by removing Quinton de Kock. Rohit Sharma also perished off Umesh Yadav's bowling and missed his fifty by two runs. Yuvraj Singh and Suriya Kumar Yadav's cameos set the platform for a big score but Yuzvendra Chahal's 3 wickets in 2 overs reduced Mumbai to 147/7 in 17th over and brought RCB back into the game. In the end, Hardik Pandya's 14-ball 32* helped to post a good total of 187/8.

In reply Parthiv Patel and Moeen Ali started off well and later Virat Kohli also joined the party and they took the score to 60/1 after the end of the powerplay. Parthiv Patel couldn't convert his start into a big one and bowled out off Mayank bowling. AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli rebuilt the innings but Bumrah dismissed Kohli and put RCB on backfoot. De Villiers was all set and started playing his shots and also brought in his fifty. In the end, RCB needed 22 runs off 12 balls but Jasprit Bumrah's brilliant bowling set the match for his team and in the last over RCB lost the match by 6 runs. Though the last ball was a clear no-ball, umpire S Ravi didn't notice it.
