IPL 2019: Match 4, RR v KXIP – Rajasthan Royals opt to bowl first

Sawai Mansingh Stadium has been like a fortress for Rajasthan Royals.

The universe boss Chris Gayle is expected to unleash his power on RR | KXIP TwitterThe fourth match of the Indian Premier League 2019 will see Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab clash in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Both the teams are known for their explosive batting lineups and it will be amazing to see such firepower go against each other.

The Kings XI Punjab team has the likes of Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran and Moises Henriques to lend some very good firepower to the team led by R Ashwin. The team had done amazingly well in IPL 2018 in initial phases with KL Rahul hitting the 14-ball fifty, a record in all IPL. Their bowling was of top-level with Andrew Tye and Mujeeb Ur Rahman taking the honors. They won a host of matches in the first half of the league, but a lengthy break in between proved devastating for them and they lost all momentum. Steve Smith is expected to return for RR | IANSRajasthan Royals, on the other hand, will return to their home of Jaipur and will also see the return of their best batsman Steve Smith to the IPL fold as well. Last year, for the first half of the tournament, the management’s stubbornness of opening with Ajinkya Rahane proved to be detrimental for the team. But as soon as Jos Buttler started opening, RR’s fortunes changed and will some brilliant performances from Jofra Archer, K Gowtham and others, the team made it into the top four.

This year, both the teams have made some striking changes to their squads which have more or less filled the gaps in their game and this match will be the perfect exhibition of both the underdog teams’ firepower.
