IPL 2019: Match 3, MI v DC – Mumbai Indians bowl first at Wankhede

Mumbai Indians have won IPL thrice in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

Rohit Sharma will open for MI this season | AFPMumbai Indians, winners of IPL in 2013, 2015 and 2017 will be hosting the newly christened Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in the third match of the IPL 2019.

Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are spoilt for choice when it comes to batting power with the arrival of Quinton de Kock in the lineup. With him and Rohit at the top and a settled middle order comprising of Suryakumar Yadav, the Pandya brothers, and Pollard, Mumbai can hope to mask a glaring problem in their squad.

The problem is the lack of fast bowling options with Adam Milne and Lasith Malinga opting out of IPL 2019 due to injury for Milne and other reasons for Malinga. This means they are left with Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell McClenaghan as pure pace options with the backup of Hardik Pandya and Ben Cutting as fast bowling all-rounders. Shreyas Iyer will lead the new look Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019 | IANSDelhi Capitals are strengthened with Shikhar Dhawan joining them. Their batting just got more powerful as Dhawan adds to the might of the likes of Shaw, Iyer, Munro, Ingram, and Pant. The bowling attack looks amazing with Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma in the pace department, while the spin attack comprises of Akshar Patel, Sandeep Lamichhane and Amit Mishra, the second highest wicket-taker in the league.

Toss: Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first.
