The pre-tournament photo shoot takes place ahead of every IPL season. The photoshoot is attended by captains of all the teams. They pose with the trophy before the tournament begins.

The photoshoot for IPL 2019 was attended by Dinesh Karthik (KKR), Shreyas Iyer (DC), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH), Virat Kohli (RCB), MS Dhoni (CSK), Rohit Sharma (MI), Ajinkya Rahane (RR) and Ravichandran Ashwin (KXIP). All the other teams have declared their captains except for SRH.

David Warner led SRH in 2016 and 2017 and Kane Williamson led them in 2018. Both the players did well as captains. Also, both these players will be playing this season for SRH. However, Warner will be joining the team after his series for Australia in UAE against Pakistan. The ODI series is scheduled to go upto 31 March 2019.

On the other hand, Williamson is still in his home country to collect the awards presented to him by New Zealand Cricket. His fitness was a concern in the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan. He was going to be tested in the final Test which was canceled due to the terrorist attacks that took place in Christchurch. So, his fitness is an unresolved issue.

In this case, if Warner and Williamson both are unavailable for the first week at least, it might be the Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar who may get the opportunity to lead the Hyderabad based franchise.

Bhuvneshwar has been SRH's most reliable player after the two captains. Now that their only other senior player, Shikhar Dhawan, has moved to Delhi Capitals, it was obvious that Bhuvi might take the reigns in his hands.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be playing their first match of VIVO IPL 2019 against Kolkata Knight Riders on 24 March at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
