With gained experience in the past editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kerala pacer Basil Thampi is eager to perform well for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the coming IPL 2019.

On Tuesday, 19 March, Thampi told PTI, “This coming season I want to do well. The most important thing is if I get a chance, I want to do well for the team. I want to win matches for the team. From the last experience, I learned a lot from this team.”

While admitting that bowling in the IPL is challenging, the pacer said, "It is very challenging to bowl in the IPL because it is a batsmen's game and we all know that. We should have the confidence to bowl, that is the key. So, in the last three years, I got the confidence to bowl at everyone. Whenever I get the ball, I want to deliver my best," Thampi told PTI in an interaction.

Thampi, who earned fame with his stint with Gujarat Lions in the IPL, wants to stick to his stock delivery -the yorker with some variation to make his bowling even more effective for the SRH, which already has Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul and Khaleel Ahmed in their ranks.

The 25-year-old right arm medium pacer added, “No, I want to stick to my thing. Because I have good yorkers, I guess, and want to stick to it and, with that, some variations.”

While revealing that he shared a good rapport with his fellow SRH pacers, Thampi signed off by saying, “We know each other. Khaleel, Sandeep and Siddharth Kaul - we played together in India A matches. We are (always) sharing our thoughts on and off the field.”

Noteworthy, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will kick start their IPL 2019 campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on March 24.
