The India team management is pretty serious to ensure no injuries ahead of the World Cup.

Team Physio Patrick Farhart is set to monitor the workload of all Indian cricketers during this season's IPL and he will be in direct contact with the support staff of eight franchises so that the team management can keep every player fit for the ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

It is learnt that all World Cup-bound players have been advised to follow the training routines of the national side. However, Farhart has already informed that no particular directives have been given regarding the workload management by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

"Every year before the IPL, the physios usually have a meeting where they discuss the overall plan for the season, the guidelines and anti-doping policies. This meeting also conveyed similar things. There was nothing in particular about the workload management," a board official was quoted saying by Sportstar on Friday, March 15.

"With the World Cup approaching, we will have to be careful. All the franchises follow a particular pattern and have set training rules and this time too, we hope to maintain that."

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief, Vinod Rai has assured that the board is very serious about this matter and will be speaking to the franchises before insisting that his "team is keeping a track" of this issue.

At the conclusion of the ODI series versus Australia in Delhi on Wednesday, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that players have been asked to "enjoy" their next two months in the IPL and added that players must quickly communicate with Farhat if there is an injury.

"We’ve given the responsibility to the player to be smart and to inform the management of the franchise and be in touch with Patrick [Farhart], our physio," Virat had said in the post-match press conference.
