David Warner is unlikely to travel to the United Arab Emirates for the five-match ODI series against Pakistan in March-April. He'll instead play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League(IPL) before helping Australia defend its crown in this year's ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

Australian left-hander, who's one-year-long ban for his role in the ball-tampering scandal ends on March 29, was slated to be available for the last two one-dayers in Dubai.

That will mean no international game time before the World Cup for Warner and even Smith, who, as per reports from AAP, won't be travelling to UAE either.

Smith sustained an elbow injury during his stay in the Bangladesh Premier League(BPL) and underwent surgery. Warner too suffered an elbow injury but was lucky enough to give it some rest.

Both the players are expected to be fit in time before April 23, when Australia must submit its final squad for the World Cup to International Cricket Council(ICC).

After which, of course, the duo will be meeting in the pre-tournament training camp at Brisbane scheduled in early May. This camp includes some practice games against New Zealand.
