Wishes poured in from all corners of the cricketing fraternity for Yuvraj Singh after being picked up by the three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the IPL Auction 2019, and now the turn is of Sourav Ganguly, who played a key role in shaping up Punjab lad’s career.

After Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan, Ganguly has expressed his happiness after Yuvraj got signed by Mumbai Indians in the Auction on Tuesday on the social media.

Former Indian skipper said the 2011 World Cup-winning India all-rounder has been a great player for the country in the shorter format of the game and wished all the luck for his IPL journey with the all-new franchise in the upcoming edition 12th edition of the T20 tournament.

Ganguly wrote on Twitter, “Extremely happy to see Yuvraj Singh picked by Mumbai ...has been a great player for the country in shorter format ..good wishes to him @YUVSTRONG12”

At the IPL Auction 2019, the all-rounder was almost to face some embarrassment as he went unsold in the first round, and even in the second round none of the franchisees seemed interested in acquiring his service despite entering the auction after reducing his base price by Rs 1 crore.

But MI thrown a lifeline to the southpaw and bid at the last moment in Jaipur grabbed the left-hander at his base price that left many surprised but the team owners and team mentor Tendulkar is glad to have the all-rounder in their ranks. While Yuvraj is also excited to play under Rohit Sharma in the IPL 2019.

He was part of the Kings XI Punjab who spent 2 Crore on the World Cup star in the last season but released the all-rounder by the franchise ahead of the IPL Auction after he failed to meet the expatiations, scored just 65 runs in 8 matches in IPL 2018.
