Off-spinner Jayant Yadav will play for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 after being traded by Delhi Capitals two days after the auction.

Jayant, who has represented India in four Tests and an ODI, was part of Delhi franchise since 2015. In three years, he got only 10 matches to play.

Delhi has got Akshar Patel and Jalaj Saxena in the recently concluded IPL auction and Jayant would have found it tough to make into playing XI. But things aren't easy in Mumbai as well. He will find likes of Krunal Pandya and Mayank Markande competing for a place with same skills.

Yadav plays for Haryana in domestic cricket and recently led India in the Emerging Teams Cup in Colombo.

Yuvraj Singh was also picked by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 12 auction. He had a really poor IPL 2018 with just 65 runs in 8 matches in IPL 2018. Despite a poor past, the three-time IPL champions showed confidence in Yuvraj and roped him in at his base price of Rs 1 crore.

The trading window will remain open until 5:00 PM (IST) - 30 days prior to the start of IPL 2019.
