IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians shares the list of released and retained players

Five international players have been released from the Mumbai squad.

Three-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians (MI) disclosed the names of players they have released and retained on the last day of the deadline. Mumbai has retained 18 players from their previous year's squad and released 10 players.

Out of 10 released players, 5 are uncapped: Pradeep Sangwan, Mohsin Khan, MD Nidheesh, Sharad Lumba, and Tajinder Singh Dhillon.

International players like South African batsman JP Duminy, Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya, Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins and Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman are released. India's Saurabh Tiwary, who was part of MI for four seasons was also released.

The core of Mumbai Indians is retained which consists of the likes of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah.

The young leg-spinner Mayank Markande, who impressed everyone with his magical bowling in the initial phase of IPL 2018, is also retained apart from youngsters like Aditya Tare, Ishan Kisan, Rahul Chahar, Anukul Roy, and Suryakumar Yadav.

MI hasn't let Kieron Pollard go, along with his Caribbean teammate Evin Lewis. Aussie all-rounder Ben Cutting and New Zealand cricketers Mitchell McClenaghan and Adam Milne are also retained by Mumbai.

Australian cricketer Jason Behrendorff who was added in the national side for series against South Africa is also among the retained players.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Mumbai franchise again in the next season.
