IPL: Kings XI Punjab trade Marcus Stoinis to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Mandeep Singh

Stoinis was bought by KXIP for 6.2 cr in 2018 auction using RTM card.

Marcus Stoinis played 19 matches for KXIP across three seasons, scoring 262 runs and picking 13 wickets | IANSThe IPL transfer window has seen quite a lot of traffic with teams coming up with permutations and combinations and trading and releasing players before the IPL 2019 auction.

Mumbai Indians roped in Quinton de Kock from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and released Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman and Sri Lankan off-break bowler Akila Dananjaya. SRH opener Shikhar Dhawan too is in talks with other franchises and a trade-off may be just around the corner.

However, Kings XI Punjab meanwhile have traded Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis to Royal Challengers Bangalore and brought Mandeep Singh, Mumbai Mirror reported.

The Ravichandran Ashwin led side had a good start to their IPL 2018, but lost steam in the second half of the season and didn’t make it into the playoffs.

Stoinis was brought by Punjab in 2016 for INR 55 lakhs and he went on to play 19 matches for them across three seasons in which he scored 262 runs and nipped out 13 wickets. Punjab used the Right to Match (RTM) card on the cricketer in 2018 auction and bagged him for a whopping INR 6.20 crore.

Mandeep, on the other hand, had a decent outing in IPL 2018 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and scored 188 runs in 11 matches coming lower down the order, along with one fifty to his name. Mandeep plays for Punjab in domestic cricket, his home team.
