News about Virat Kohli being sacked as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had shaken the fans. There were rumors all over the social media that Virat is getting replaced by the former South African cricketer AB de Villiers. It is said that Kohli has failed to lead the franchise as per the expectations.

Snubbing all the speculations, the Bangalore franchise opened up on the reports about Virat getting removed as skipper for Indian Premier League 2019.

“We can clarify on record that the news is incorrect and Virat Kohli is very much the captain of RCB for the next season as well,” a team spokesperson said, as quoted by India Today.

Recently, RCB announced former India coach Gary Kirsten as their head coach and mentor for the upcoming edition of IPL. He replaced former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori, who had been associated with the franchise both as player and coach for the past eight editions.

They also confirmed Ashish Nehra, current bowling coach of RCB as part of the coaching leadership team along with Kirsten.

"I had the privilege to join the coaching team of RCB last season and feel very passionately about the team. I want to thank the team management for considering me in a leadership position with the franchise and look forward to the successful seasons ahead," Nehra said.
