South African batting superstar AB de Villiers is all set to continue his stint with his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), as he will be available for the side to play in the next edition of the cash-rich T20 league.

There were doubts over his participation in the upcoming IPL  following his sudden retirement from international cricket in May this year, but now the RCB chairman Sanjeev Churiwala has cleared all doubts by confirming that the Pretoria-born cricketer will be available for the franchise for the next edition of the IPL.

Besides De Villiers, who has been playing for the RCB since 2011, Ashish Nehra and Gary Kirsten will be part of the RCB’s coaching staff for the upcoming edition of the IPL.

Churiwala was quoted as saying by Times Now, “De Villiers will be available for RCB. We have stated our intentions on this matter in the past as well.”

Noteworthy, De Villiers made his IPL debut with the Delhi Daredevils in 2008, but it is with RCB where he has earned a reputation of being one of the most explosive batsmen in the world, as well as, became a crucial member of the franchise over the years.

He is the third highest run scorer for RCB only behind Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle, having amassed nearly 4,000 runs at an average of 40 and a strike rate in excess of 150 with three centuries and 28 fifties in the IPL. Reportedly, De Villiers will also play in the next Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.
