Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has finally taken a step to improve their dismal IPL record. It was surprising to see a team with so many big names failing to make into the top 4 this year.

There were talks of few much-needed changes and if reports of 'The Mirror' are to be believed, RCB is saying goodbye to head coach Daniel Vettori (New Zealand), batting and fielding coach Trent Woodhill (Australia) and bowling coach Andrew McDonald (Australia). They have been sacked by the Diageo management which owns the RCB franchise.

There are chances they Virat would like to continue with the bowling mentor Ashish Nehra, who joined the franchise last year. Not only coaches, Amrit Thomas may also get replaced by new administrative Sanjeev Churiwala.

The new set of the coaching staff is expected to be announced in a week’s time.

However, there are chances that Gary Kirsten, who coached India to the 2011 World Cup victory may join RCB as head coach. There were talks about Sanjay Bangar, the current Indian batting coach joining the Bangalore franchise as well. But it would be a conflict of interest.

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was denied by Committee of Administrators (CoA) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) when he proposed to join IPL commentary.

Other franchises are making changes in their coaching staff as well. Going by the rumors, Kings XI Punjab has had enough of Brad Hodge and is likely to replace the former Aussie batsman.

Shane Warne may join Rajasthan Royals as a full-time coach. He was with the team in IPL 2018 as a part-time mentor.
