Kieron Pollard smacked 68 in 39 balls with six sixes | AFPThe third and final T20I between India and West Indies was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with the series on the line. India had won in Hyderabad, while the Windies equaled the series in Trivandrum.

West Indies won the toss and chose to field first. However, this time, the Indian openers went berserk at the opposition bowlers from the start with Rohit making 71 and Rahul making a brilliant 91. However, the innings of the match came from Indian skipper Virat Kohli who slammed 70* in 29 balls with 7 sixes, as India put on a mountain of 240/3 in 20 overs.

The Windies came into the chase with one batsman short as Evin Lewis hurt his knee bad enough not to come out to bat. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of King for 5 and Shami removed last match’s hero Lendl Simmons for 7 runs. Shimron Hetmyer looked dangerous and made 41 in 24 balls with 5 fours before Kuldeep got his wicket. Pooran was out on the first ball by Chahar, while Holder got out trying to hit Kuldeep out of the ground.

But captain Kieron Pollard had other ideas as he slammed 68 in 39 balls with 6 sixes and 5 fours to his name and even gave the illusion that his team was still in the game when he was out there despite the required run rate touching 20 rpo. But Bhuvneshwar ended his threat and India just had to wrap the game up from thereon.

West Indies ended their 20 overs for 173/8. Amongst the Indian bowlers, Bhuvneshwar (2/41), Chahar (2/20) and Shami (2/25), were the best, while Kuldeep also picked two wickets, going for 45 runs. India pocketed the series 2-1, winning the third T20I by 67 runs.

Cricket fraternity was amazed at the way the Indian team went with their job in this match, attacked the visiting bowling attack and put up a mountain of runs knowing the capabilities of opposition and praised the team on Twitter.
