The second T20I of the three-match series between India and West Indies is being played at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. India came into this match 1-0 after winning in Hyderabad.
West Indies won the toss and Pollard chose to bowl first. They brought in Nicholas Pooran for Denesh Ramdin, while India went in unchanged. The Indian innings was built around the maiden half-century by Shivam Dube, who made 54 in 30 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours. Apart from him, Rishabh Pant made 33* with 3 fours and 1 six, while Kohli made 19 and Rohit made 15.
India made 170/7 in 20 overs, with Hayden Walsh (2/28) and Kesrick Williams (2/30) were the pick of West Indian bowlers.
Meanwhile, the focus was on Dube, who was sent into bat at no.3 and took full advantage of the promotion after Rahul fell in the 4th over. The cricket fraternity was appreciative of team management’s decision to send him up the order and showered the all-rounder with praises on Twitter.
