India wrapped up the 5-match ODI series against West Indies 3-1 after a thumping 9 wicket win in the Thiruvananthapuram match. The match ended in just the first half duration, as Windies were bowled out for 104.

Jason Holder made a huge error judgment after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Indian bowlers, especially Ravindra Jadeja ran through the Windies batting like a warm knife through butter. The carnage started with Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar sending back Kieran Powell and Shai Hope back to the pavilion for ducks. Then Rovman Powell (16) and Marlon Samuels (24) tried to steady the ship a bit, but Khaleel Ahmed removed Powell.

Then Jadeja removed Samuels, Hetmyer, Roach, and Thomas to pick 4 wickets 34 runs. Jason Holder top-scored with 25 runs for Windies, as the team was bowled out for 104 in 31.5 overs.

Apart from Jadeja, Bumrah picked 2/11 and Ahmed picked 2/29; while Kuldeep and Bhuvneshwar picked a wicket apiece. Ravindra Jadeja was named the Man of the Match for his four wickets.

Rohit Sharma reached the 200 sixes mark in ODIs and won the Player of the series award

India chased down the total in just 14.5 overs thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 63* in 56 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours. He also became the second Indian to hit 200 sixes in ODIs after MS Dhoni and the second highest run-getter in ODIs in 2018, after Kohli.

Virat Kohli scored 33* in 28 balls with 6 fours, while Shikhar Dhawan continued his poor form with the bat, as Oshane Thomas dismissed him by bowling him.

With this 9-wicket win 211 balls to spare, India ended their 2018 in ODIs with a 3-1 series win over West Indies. Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to win five successive ODI series at home.

The T20I series will begin from 4th November, with the first match at Kolkata.
