India failed to chase down a target of 284 runs despite captain Virat Kohli's third consecutive hundred and suffered a 43 runs loss in the third ODI at the hands of West Indies in Pune. Earlier India asked West Indies to bat first and the duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav gave a perfect start to India and reduced West Indies to 121/5 at one stage but Shai Hope's gritty knock of 95 runs and Ashley Nurse's 40 runs cameo helped West Indies to post a total of 283/9 on the board.

In reply India were 172/3 in 31 overs and Kohli was at the crease but after Rishabh Pant's dismissal India collapsed and lost 7 wickets for just 68 runs and got bowled out for just 240 runs in the 48th over. Captain Virat Kohli played a brilliant knock of 107 runs and for West Indies, Marlon Samuels took 3 wickets. Ashley Nurse was named Man of the Match for his all round performance (40 runs and 2 wickets).
