Virat Kohli has made it a habit to break records and it was no different on Saturday (October 27) as he became the first Indian batsman to hit three consecutive hundreds in ODI cricket.
Chasing West Indies’ target of 284 in the third ODI in Pune, India lost the in-form Rohit Sharma for just 8. However, skipper Kohli was at his usual best. At first, Kohli forged a 79-run stand with Shikhar Dhawan (35) to bail the hosts out of trouble and then followed it with a 47-run partnership with Ambati Rayudu (22).
Even though India continued to lost wickets from the other end, it didn’t affect Virat’s scoring rate by any means as he notched up his third straight ODI century in the series and 38th overall in the 50-over format.
With this ton, Kohli also equalled South African talisman and his RCB teammate, AB de Villiers' incredible feat on Indian soil. Both now have four consecutive ODI centuries on Indian soil.
The Indian captain eventually perished for 107 off Marlon Samuels’ bowling. His innings was laced with 10 boundaries and 1 six. After Kohli’s dismissal, it was all over for the home team as West Indies bundled out India for 240 in 47.4 overs to win the contest by 43 runs.
Twitter experts were in awe to see the way Virat made the mockery of Windies bowling attack for the third consecutive match.
Here are some of the tweets:

I have seen machines of many kinds. But hardly a century machine like Virat Kohli. We are seeing a magnificent phase of batsmanship.

Match 3, results 3 bhinn. Wonderful effort from West Indies to win one and tie one despite Kohli’s formidable centuries. India need to sort out a few things and hope they take positive learnings from this loss. #IndvWI
