IND v WI 2018: Twitter erupts as Virat Kohli reaches the 10,000-run mark and his 157* takes India to 321/6

Virat Kohli is the fastest to reach the 10,000 run mark in ODIs in 205 innings.

Virat Kohli scored his 37th ODI century and ended on 157* | TwitterIndia and West Indies played the second ODI of the five-match series at Vizag and it became a special one for Indian captain Virat Kohli for two reasons.

He won the toss and chose to bat first and despite losing Rohit and Dhawan early, along with Rayudu (73) added 139 runs for the 3rd wicket. Kohli kept India in the game and pushed the team towards a huge total. Though Dhoni (20) and Pant (17) tried to give some impetus to the innings, the slow pitch and low bounce meant that shot making was not easy.

But Virat Kohli kept going at one end and brought up the milestone of the 10,000-run mark. He became the fifth Indian and 13th overall to reach the milestone and fastest in terms of matches and innings, beating the record of Sachin Tendulkar in the process.

Then came the 37th ODI ton in 106 balls after which he switched gears and went after the Windies bowlers. This century also made him the most prolific century-maker against the West Indies in ODI going past the likes of Hashim Amla.

India reached 321/6 thanks to an unbeaten 157* (129 balls, 13 fours and 4 sixes) from Virat Kohli and Twitter was just bowing to mastery of this wizard known as Virat Kohli.
