IND v WI 2018: Prithvi Shaw wants to be the best among the best, after dream debut series

Prithvi Shaw won the Man of the series award against West Indies | AFP 18-year-old Prithvi Shaw was earmarked for some good things right from the start and he did so by scoring a century each on debut in domestic cricket in Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy. Soon he got a call-up to the Indian Test team, on back of some brilliant performances for India A.

He marked his debut in Tests against Windies with the third fastest century by a debutant, scoring 134. He then scored a half-century in the second Test and got the Man of the series award on in his first international series.

Recently, on his Twitter, Prithvi Shaw posted a message saying, “To be the Best among the best is what I always strive for

"He (Shaw) is born to play cricket. He's been playing since the age of eight in the maidans of Mumbai. You can see all that hard work showing. He's a spectator's delight. There's a bit of Sachin there, a bit of Viru in him and when he walks there's a bit of Lara as well," Team India head coach Ravi Shastri said.

Shaw brilliant numbers in domestic cricket for Mumbai in the First-Class career scoring 1,655 runs from 16 matches. He scored these runs at an average of 61.29 with the highest score of 188 runs.
